Vähemmän is a sustainable luxury brand for men and women. We believe clothing should be designed with the purposeful intention to cause as little harm to the environment as possible. We start with mindful material selection by sourcing fine fabrics from US mills wherever possible to reduce our carbon footprint and support an industry that has been reduced to only a few mills and spinners.
There is already too much clothing in the world. We have a deep conviction to only produce designs with a story and reason to exist. Meticulous attention is paid to fit and construction details, referencing European luxury and vintage American couture pieces. All styles are produced on the East Coast by skilled workers in small workshops. Our prices represent the cost of fair labor, small production runs and supporting the domestic supply chain.
Vähemmän is the Finnish word for “Less”. Founded by Emily MacKenzie, a technical designer with decades of experience, Vähemmän is an antidote to wasteful design and mediocre construction. Vähemmän was created to make clothing in a new way. It is the result of years of careful product development and research into what true sustainability is.
